Texas company is developing a new rehab hospital in Overland Park

An Allen, Texas, inpatient rehabilitation company is planting roots in the Kansas City metro with a new 40-bed hospital in Overland Park.

Nobis Rehabilitation Partners will open its College Park RehabilitationHospital at 11325 College Blvd., within the Compass Corporate Centre. The facility will open in the second quarter of 2022, the company recently announced.

WB Development Partners and New Era Companies, both of Texas, will partner to build the facility, where Nobis will care for patients with complex neurological and orthopedic diseases and injuries.

The hospital’s construction process now is underway, Nobis Chief Development Officer Gina Thomas said in an email.

Once open, the facility will bring more than 100 jobs to OverlandPark, CEO and co-founder Daryn Eudaly said in a recent release.

Patients receive customized care from an interdisciplinary team of physicians and therapists, with focuses including physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation nursing and speech-language pathology.

Overland Park council members in December approved final development plans for the three-story, 47,750-square-foot building, plus a special use permit allowing the hospital within a planned office building zoning district.

Founded in 2018, Nobis has 12 other hospitals open or under development across Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin, its website shows.

These include a 48,000-square-foot, 40-bed facility in Greenfield, Wisconsin, and a 60,000-square-foot, 60-bed facility in Altamonte Springs, Florida, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal and Orlando Business Journal, both sister papers of the Kansas City Business Journal.

GSR Andrade Architects Inc. is the architect for the hospital, and BHC is civil engineer.
